Two Great Treats. Different Strengths.

Both our Chicken Jerky and Buff Jerky are single-ingredient, preservative-free and slow-dehydrated at low temperature. Both are genuinely excellent treats. But they are not identical — and depending on your dog's needs, one may serve them significantly better than the other.

CHICKEN JERKY
  • Higher protein per gram
  • Lower fat content
  • Milder, familiar flavour
  • More affordable for daily use
  • Best for: training & everyday rewards
BUFF JERKY
  • Higher iron and zinc
  • Richer, deeper flavour
  • A different protein from chicken
  • Excellent for picky eaters
  • Best for: allergies & nutritional variety

The Allergy Argument for Buffalo

Chicken is the most commonly fed protein to dogs in India — it appears in almost every kibble, wet food and treat on the market. As a result, chicken is also the most common food allergen in Indian dogs. Not because chicken is inherently bad, but because repeated long-term exposure to any single protein dramatically increases the chance of developing a sensitivity to it.

Buffalo is a novel protein — one that most Indian dogs have never been exposed to. If your dog shows signs of food sensitivity (itching, paw chewing, chronic ear infections, loose stools), switching to a novel protein is both a powerful diagnostic step and a therapeutic one.

Novel protein elimination diets are the gold standard in veterinary nutrition for diagnosing food sensitivities. Buffalo is one of the most commonly recommended options because it is truly novel for most Indian dogs and nutritionally rich.

Which Should You Choose?

  • Everyday training treat: Chicken Jerky — high protein, low fat, easy to break small, affordable for frequent use
  • Dog with suspected chicken allergy: Buff Jerky — novel protein, zero cross-reaction risk, same dehydrated quality
  • Picky eater who ignores treats: Buff Jerky — the richer, deeper flavour is dramatically harder to resist
  • Dog showing fatigue or anaemia: Buff Jerky — iron content is 2.5× higher than chicken
  • Immune support or skin issues: Buff Jerky — zinc supports immune regulation and wound healing
  • Best overall strategy: Rotate both — nutritional variety is always the winning approach
The rotation trick: Chicken treats Monday through Wednesday, buffalo treats Thursday through Saturday. This approach reduces the long-term allergy risk from any single protein while ensuring your dog gets the broadest nutritional spectrum across the week.
